Holiday Organizing Tips

Believe it or not December is Stress-Free Holidays Month. Yes, there is such thing as preventing or at least minimizing stress during one of the busiest times of years. With a good time management and organization system in place, you are more apt to enjoy the holiday season and treasure quality time with friends and family. Check out these holiday organizing tips from our team.

Holiday Organizing Tip from Fiorella Sabato, President
Make the 2009 Holiday Season the one in which you finally purge that tired wreath or those "slightly' broken ornaments and lights that have been cluttering your storage space for the past few years, so that when the season is over, you are only keeping what you are likely to use in the future

Holiday Organizing Tip from Kristina Barrett, Organizing Consultant
Get a jump on the holidays this year by getting your holiday cards ready early. Start by updating your address list by adding or changing any addresses from last year. If you haven't already entered your address list in the computer, take the time to do it now! This will also allow you to finally get rid of all those envelopes and scraps of paper you saved that have been sitting by the computer. Now that you know how many holiday cards you are sending, go ahead and buy your holiday cards early and address the envelopes. When the holidays quickly approach and we all get busier you will already steps ahead. You may even be one of the first people to mail your cards out this year!

Holiday Organizing Tip from Kristin White del Rosso, Organizing Consultant
Start a Holiday Record Book by keeping a notebook or computer-based record with the names of the people you are shopping for, including gift ideas, what you purchased, and what you spent. This will help you stay on track and determine the people that still need gifts. When the holiday season is over, keep the notebook and use it throughout the year to keep track of gift ideas, gifts purchased, and supplies needed such as wrapping paper. This way you do not waste time or money next year shopping for supplies you already purchased.
